LAURA BELLE HUGHES

Age 99, died Monday September 5, 2016 at the home of her grandson, which is located on the family farm she had resided on for 65 years in the Birmingham area.

She was born in Londonderry Township, Guernsey County to the late Wilmer A. & Martha E. Stockdale Downerd on March 16, 1917.

She was married to the late Earl Hughes September 1, 1937 and he died in 1977 also preceding her was a sister, Gertrude Hughes

She was a member of the Birmingham United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by a daughter, Martha Ann Cesner and a son John ‘Judy’ Hughes all residing near Birmingham. 3 Grandchildren: Dan Perkins, Angela ‘Joe’ Grewell, and Byron ‘Kim’ Hughes. 4 Great Grandchildren: Josh Grewell, Jordan Grewell, Seth Hughes and Gabby Hughes. A sister, Louise Smith of Antrim. Several Nieces & nephews.

Friends may call at the Birmingham United Methodist Church 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday. Funeral Services at the church on Thursday, at 11:00am. Pastor Matt Wilson & Pastor Beth Mansperger will officiate the service. Memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc. P.O.
