John H. Duffy, age 69 of Londonderry Twp. died suddenly of a heart attack at his home Saturday, August 8, 2020. He was born November 16, 1950, at Zanesville, OH to the late Harold Junior Duffy and Esther Margaret Shook.
He was raised by his Grandparents: Lucy McClelland Duffy and John Duffy. Also preceding was his wife, Beverly Householder Duffy in 2004.
He retired from Ohio Valley Coal Company after 38 years of service. A 1968 graduate of Madison High School, he enjoyed farming and riding his horses and spending time with his family. He always rode at the Antrim Fireman’s Fair. He was a 4-H advisor close to 30 years with the Guernsey County Saddle Club. A longtime member of the Guernsey County Mounted Search and Rescue Team. Also, a long time Member of the Ohio Horseman’s Council.
Surviving is a son, John D. (Cory) Duffy of Antrim A Daughter, Cassie Deic of Cambridge; 5 Grandchildren: Johnathan & Haley Duffy, Aaron, Christian & Andrew Deic. An Aunt, Jeanette Cox of Quaker City route and Cousins, Gary (Cecily) Cox & Teresa Brooks. A Longtime Companion, Rita Rathbun.
Due to the current covid-19 virus a public graveside service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Oak Grove Cemetery, SR 800 with Pastor Bob Merritt officiating. Bond Funeral Home, Londonderry is assisting the family.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed in John's honor to the Guernsey County Saddle Club, 16029 Gunn Road, Lore City, Ohio 43755.
