RICHARD E. HYDE, age 92 of Bethesda Road, died Thursday at Astoria Place, Barnesville. He was born November 15, 1927 on the family farm near Fairview to the late Earl & Edna Smith Hyde.
He had worked as a Service Engineer for Clark-Volvo Equipment Co. and traveled in 28 different countries. He graduated from Madison High School in 1945. He was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and the Historical Construction Equipment Association.
A brother, Fred and sisters, Jessie Howell, Marjorie Rife and Helen Morgan and granddaughter, Rona Williamson preceded him in death.
He married Miriam Dunbar Feb. 14, 1949; She survives along with a daughter, Janice St. Clair of Freeport Route and 2 sons: Michael Hyde of Albuquerque, N.M. and Mitchell ‘Susan’ Hyde of Columbus. Grandchildren: Renee Huff, Kaitlin & Christopher Hyde, 5 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Bond Funeral Home, Londonderry Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Pastor Bob Merritt will officiate at a 1:00 service on Monday, January 13, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery.
