Obituary

William Martin (Bill) Davidson, age 93, formally of Cambridge transitioned peacefully to his Final Home with his daughters and sons surrounding him on Thursday, December 03, 2020 at Smith’s Mill Health Campus of New Albany, Oh. He was born December 24, 1926 on Titus Road in Guernsey County to the late John ‘Blair’ and Wilma Josephine Lake Davidson.

Bill graduated from Freeport High School in 1944 and was awarded the FFA State Farmer Degree. After serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Germany he received his B.S. in Ag. Eng. from The Ohio State University in 1949. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret ‘Peg” Frizzell, June 8, 1947. After 66 years together, she proceeded him in death in 2013. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Keith Mills of Streeter, N.D. and Karen and Bob Dennis of Johnstown, OH; three beloved grandchildren: Tyler Dylan ‘Debrah’ Mills of Minneapolis: Connor Martin ‘Angelica’ Mills, of Los Angeles; and Blair Mills and fiancé  Matt Pankratz of St. Louis; and loving ‘grand pets’, Copper, Ricky, Millie, Penny and Kara.

He was a long-time member of the Center United Methodist Church. In recent years, Bill joined New Albany Methodist. He was an Allis Chalmers dealer in Cambridge from 1953 to 1963, and prior to that, worked for three years with Charles H. Sipe, Inc., the former Chevrolet dealer in Cambridge. Bill was appointed General Manager of Farm & Power Equipment Retailers in 1968 and named Executive Director in 1971, a position he held until retirement in 1988.  He served as President in 1979-80 of the Ohio Agricultural Council. President of the Ohio Farm & Home Safety Committee, and on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Council on Economic Education.  

Bill and Peg loved their family and traveling in their motor home, spending summers with the Mills family in ND and winters in FL They were both avid Buckeye sports fans.

Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A celebration of Bill’s life is planned for summer of 2021. Bond Funeral Home in Londonderry, Ohio, is assisting the family. Burial will take place at Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport.  Online wishes may be made at www.bondfuneralhome.net.
